Through the looking glass

Welcome to my web page,  I am a freelance cameraman / photographer based in Auckland, New Zealand.

Born in England in January 1983, I grew up very interested in nature and films. My dad always had a camcorder with him - filming us kids. And I believe that this, along with my love of nature and films made me become who I am today.

My family moved to Auckland, New Zealand, when I was just turning 10. After leaving high school in 2000 I worked full time for a couple of years in a music shop, still unsure of what I wanted to do.  I told people I wanted to work on films and they just laughed. One day I just decided that I would prove people wrong.

So at the end of 2002 I applied to South Seas Film and Television School on the North Shore in Auckland, and got in, and thats where I met Amit!!

After one year of studying and specializing in camera, lighting and audio at South Seas Film School, I got a job straight out of school on a kids TV show called "Studio 2" where i continue to be a field cameraman for the show.  In 2004, I shot the feature film "Memories of Tomorrow" which Amit directed.

I now have experience in documentary's, short films, feature films, music videos and advertisements.  I can shoot on most formats including 16mm film.

Everywhere I go I carry a camera,  be it a stills camera or a moving image camera.  There is so much beauty in this world in every day life and without something to record what I see, I would waste away.  I want to show people what I see,  and I achieve this in my lighting and compositions.
